The IBA research network aims to:

1. Identify all existing IBA-focussed research, both formal and informal, and house a list or copy of these on this website;

2. Identify knowledge gaps surrounding IBAs based on existing research, and the recognized needs of IBA signatories (and perhaps relevant northern governmental organizations); and

3. Conceive and compose a high-quality collaborative program of research.
